Definition

Model deprecation

Model deprecation is when an AI vendor retires or changes a model you depend on, forcing you to re-test and re-engineer.

A deprecated or silently updated model can change behaviour and break downstream systems with little warning. Contract for advance deprecation notice, the ability to pin a version, and a supported migration window before retirement.
